    Keeping the Pressure On!

This year, we continue to offer resources, training and support to churches in Norwich Diocese, as together we seek to break the silence on what the Secretary General's 2006 in-depth research concluded was the most common and least reported crime in the world - that of violence against women, especially in the home.

Please do get involved and spread the word.

Also this year, we launch training for all the curates of the diocese, as we spend a day on 15 November 2014 studying the dynamics of abuse and how we can spot the signs, support people, teach responsibly on related issues and signpost people in the right way. Look out for more news after next week...

    Remember, Remember...

Today is Remembrance Day, when we cease all locomotion and concentrate on reverent remembrance of the glorious dead. November is a month for remembering. We were remember, remembering the 5th of November 6 days ago. With The International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women fast approaching as well, we have another cause for remembrance.

Remember, remember that not all homes are places of safety or refuge - for some home is a living hell because people choose to abuse. And in our remembering, let's act together to put an end to it.

    Clergy Training - Date Set

We are so pleased that training around the issues of domestic abuse is due to be rolled out to all clergy in Norwich Diocese, beginning next year. The date is set, the speakers confirmed, and it looks set to be a tremendously significant and engaging day, as we seek to equip the next generation of vicars to have eyes wide open to what goes on. They will know how to recognise, handle and act to help redeem these gritty realities of life.

    15th November 2014 - Be prepared.

    Diocesan Synod 2012

Rev Adrian Miller and close friend, who’d suffered 25 years of abuse in marriage, reported to the Diocesan Synod on Sat 17th March 2012 about the urgency and severity of the need to get involved with this area.

Adrian’s friend spoke movingly about her experience of 25 years of living with an abuser, and Adrian called those present and those they represented, to join together in a show of solidarity. The response was hearty and very encouraging.

    Successful 2011 Campaign

It's been wonderful to hear stories of how local churches have made a noise, stood up and spoken up for those who are suffering the great betrayal of having their homes, which should be places of safety, turned into places of fear.

Thanks to all those who made the 2011 launch campaign such a blessing. Stay posted for developments through 2012.
